Hi Barbara:
There are several more pieces of information which are needed to assist you. Because of privacy laws, information for persons born after 1920 are difficult to find even for a non-elusive person.
Do you have a location in Oregon where he lived? A locality might enable someone to look for him in city directories, phone books, newspapers, court records, etc...
Also, what branch of the service was he in? When did he serve, where did he enlist etc...? Given his date of birth was he a Korean war veteran?
What were his spouses names (did he married more than once)?
Did he have a Social Security number? I searched with the name and dates you provided but did not find a listing for him and tried vague dates, soundex to no avail.
We may be able to point you in the right direction if we know where to look.
