John C. Simpson/Jenetta Worthy

I am looking for information about John C. Simpson. He was born about 1840 in Ohio. He married Jenetta(Neddie) Worthy, born about 1854 in Missouri. Their children were Mary, born 1871 in Kansas, and John C. born 1874 in Missouri. I found them living in Kansas City in the 1870 census. Family stories say John was killed in an accident while he was moving a house in Kansas City. I have been unable to determine when the accident happened. Any help regarding the details of his death would be greatly appreciated.
Following John's death, Jenetta(Neddie)moved her family to Portland, Oregon. Here his son, John, worked for a Woolen Mill.
