Is there anyone reading this message board who might be researching the CASNER, CARSNER or CARSONER surname. I have a family of 12-14 brothers and 1 sister who migrated to OR 1852 along with their mother, Jincy Jane Fields Casner. While I have collected extensive information on the family, I still have a few gaps.
The family originally settled in Linn Co., OR where Jincy took a land grant. There was a split in the family in 1875.
-Two of the sons (Riley & Moses Casner)(along with the then elderly Jincy) moved to AZ.
-Another son (John Casner) along with his own son John Lewis, went to NV, TX, then NM.
-One son (Andrew Jackson Carsner)made his way around OR, WA, Canada.
-One son (Jonas Carsner) lived and died in 1864 in Grant Co., OR.
-Two sons (William & Daniel) struck it rich in the CA gold mines, went to TX with a herd of sheep where they were murdered
-Another son (James/Jim Canser)lived in Grant Co., OR at one time and may have died there or in Utamilla Co.
-Another son (Henry Casner) is found in Linn Co., between 1852 and 1864; I have yet to determine what became of him.
-Another son (George Washington Casner) is actually a grandson; he lives and is killed in NV between 1880-1884.
-The only daughter (Nancy Jane) marries, lives/dies in Linn Co..
-Another possible son (Frank) dies in CA
-Two other sons (Ebenezer & Benjamin) are last heard of in IA; I am trying to determine what became of Ebenezer and Benjamin; only records found of them has been in IA.
-The only record of the last son (David) has been in CA.
I would like to hear from anyone who might be researching this family or who might be able to shed some light on any of the family members for me
