Mr. Gordon R. McClure passed away at a local hospital Sept. 18, 1961 at the age of 52. He was born in Maywood, Ill. on June 16, 1909. He was united in marriage to Helen Bryan in Oak Park, Illinois on June 29, 1935.
Mr. McClure had been a resident of the Alvadore area for the past fifteen years. He was a member of the Alvadore Christian Church and also a member of the Magnolia Lodge #626 of St. Louis, Mo.
He is survived by his wife Helen, two sons: Donald and Thomas of Alvadore, one daughter Jean and two brothers, Bruce of Elmira and C. Douglas of Eugene.
He was a machinist and had been working for the U.S. Plywood Co. Eugene.
Services will be held at McGaffey’s Eugene Memorial Chapel on Wed. Sept. 20, 1961 at 2PM.
The Rev. Willett Jessee will conduct the service, and interment will be at Lane Memorial Gardens. West Lane News, Sept. 21, 1961, Veneta, Oregon
