Glad to help!
I found Vincil's death in the Oregon Index:
Name: Davis, Vincil H
Death Date: 28 Jan 1949
An easy way to find out where he is buried is to request his death certificate. Do you live in Oregon? If so, it is only a $5.00 charge and they get it to you in about 4 days. If you live out of state, it is $10.00, and they still get it to you within a week! You can order it from
Oregon State Archives
800 Summer Street, NE
Salem, OR 97310
They will take your order over the phone and you can pay by credit card. If Vincil died after his wife, it will list the name of the survivor who provided the information and paid for his services. Even if he died prior to his wife, the death certificate will let you know which mortuary he was taken to and where he was buried, or if he was cremated who took his ashes.
After that you can request his obituary from the funeral home which took care of him. They will usually provide this for free and give you the information over the phone. Since Eugene is a large city, it would be difficult to try and call the homes that he may have been taken to; without his death certificate you won't know for sure.
If ordering this isn't an option for you, let me know and I will see what else we can figure out to get that info for you.
Did you get the census page? If you need it I will look up the page numbers and send them.
Let me know if there's anything else you need help with.
