Hi Teresa, Benjamin Godfrey & family lived 1850 in Mentz, Cayuga Co., NY. Benjamin, b. NY, abt. 1827, blacksmith; wife Helen, b. NY 19; Mary, mother, b. NY, 56 and a John Newman, b. NY, 16.
In 1860 the family was living in Scott Valley, Siskiyou Co., CA. B. A., head household, b. NY, 33, farmer; H. R., wife, b. NY, 29; A. B., female, dau, b. CA 3 and Thomas Patton, b. OH, 23, laborer.
In 1870 the family was still living in Scott Valley. B. A., b. NY, 43, farmer; Helen, b. NY; Alice, B., b. CA, 14; Frank, b. CA, 7; Mary, b. CA, 3, William, b. CA 10/12ths and David Ferrell, b. Ireland, 35, farm laborer.
In 1880 they were still living in Scott Valley. Benjamin A., b. NY, 53, farmer; Hellen K., b. NY, 48; Frank, b. CA, 17; Mary, b. CA, 12; William, b. CA, 10; Tessa, b. CA, 8; Carrie b. CA 7 and Viola b. CA, 5.
