Hi Dalene, yes genealogy can be frustrating, especially when your family moved a lot. I kinda had to translate your postings and put the info in chronological order so I could find your family in the Censuses. Also when you submit a request be sure to put in it everything you know; where & when born, etc.

I found Ninevah and family in 1910 living in Johnstown, Brown Co., NE. Ninevah b. NE, 27, first marr, marr 2 yrs, house decorator; Amy A., b. NE, 30, 1st marr, marr 2 yrs; Dale b. NE, 9/12ths.

In 1920 this family was still living in Johnstown. Minnie [Census spelling] b. NE, 37, motor machinist; Amy, b. NE, 30 and Dale, b. NE, 11.

In 1930 a Dale Davis was living in Des Moines, Boone Co., IA at the Boone Biblical College. He was b. NE, abt. 1910, 20 yrs old; father born SD & mother born NE. I'm not sure if this was your father or not.

In 1930 your grandmother Amy was living with her parents in Johnstown, Brown Co., NE. Mark [might be Mack] Williams, head household; b. MN, 74, married @ 23; Alice M., wife, b. MN, 70, married @ 19; Lloyd S., son, b. NE, 46, single, general farmer; Amy A. Davis, daughter, b. NE, 38, married, married @ 18; Wesley David, grandson, b. NE, 3.

I didn't find Ninevah in the 1930 Census.

A Nineva Davis d. Klamath Co. 10 March 1940 per death cert #67; spouse-Martha. Source: OR Death Index. Before you order a copy of his death cert, I'd try to get a copy of his obit. Write to Klamath Basin Gen Soc., 126 S. Third St., Klamath Falls, OR 97601. Obits can contain a wonderful amount of info! Be sure to tell them he was killed in a train accident so they can include that article too.

You can also contact University of Oregon, http://libweb.uoregon.edu/general/gethelp.html or the Oregon Library System http://www.oregonlibraries.net/.

A Wesley M. Davis b. 1927, NE who was living in Douglas Co., NE enlisted in the U. S. Army 28 Nov 1945, Camp Hood Killeen, Texas. He had completed two yrs high school, single w/ no dependents. Source: U. S. World War II Army Enlistment Records, 1938-1946.

A Dale Davis, last residence Omaha, Douglas Co., NE was b. 16 July 1909 and has last benefit check was mailed to Omaha. He died Dec. 1985. His social sec. # was assigned in NE before 1951. Source: Social Security Death Index which anyone can access at no charge. Is this your father?

A Wesley E. Davis last benefit check mailed to Anacortes, Skagit Co. WA was born 30 March 1927 and d. June 1992. His soc. sec. # was assigned in OR before 1951. Same source as above. Might be your Uncle Wesley.

That's all I found. Your grandfather's obit should tell you more about his wife Martha and children Valeria and Leslie. It will be harder to search for them since the viewable Censuses end at 1930.

Also if you want to know more about the family while they lived in Klamath County, I'd write to Klamath Basin Gen. Soc. (address above). Many local gen. soc's have info in their library and charge a reasonable research fee.

If you want to learn more about the genealogy process in general, look into your local gen. soc. Maybe have meetings every month where a speaker talks about genealogy methods. Also members can be a great help too. Successful Hunting!
