Janice,
It would help if you identified the name of the known brother, possible date of birth for the lost brother Daniel. This would identify a possible date of birth to eliminate anyone not matching criteria. The last known address date/time-frame would help also.If it was 50 years ago, or 5.
The 1930 Census for Danville, Harper County, Kansas
John L McCorgary, 38, born in KS
Idona R, 29, born in Oklahoma
Edwin L, 6
Daniel Q (transcribed as "O", but appears to be a "Q"), age 5.He would have been born about 1924/1925
James F, 4
Virginia M, 2 the rest scratched out
John, Jr, age 0 x/12, also scratched out.
"If" this is the correct family, Daniel is the search subject?
I did find an obituary for Thelma J. McCorgary, possible souse of John, they had a son Daniel. But no information further to help.
I looked at the Jackson County Recorder records, the Oregon State Archives, cemetery records, various other records...without success.
This elderly gentleman needs to be asked specific questions on his family, parents, siblings and the information on this Daniel. The spelling of the last name does match with existing persons having this spelling; however, verify the spelling.Verify any potential breakups of the family due to divorce, deaths, etc. of the parents. If this person has the name of McCorgary, a death of the father/remarriage of the mother, a younger sibling may have taken the name of the new family. Also try to identify the full name of the initial "Q."
