Samuel P. Purdy 1850-1917

I'm looking for information on my grandfather Sam Purdy 1850-1917.
He was a resident of Medford at the time of his death (December 13, 1917), living at 715 Park Avenue.
I am wondering who might have the old city directories that might give me a clue to his occupation, when he arrived in Medford, etc.
In 1900 he is listed on the Umatilla County Oregon census at Centerville (Athena).
In the period between 1865 and about 1870 he lived near Harrisburg in Linn County.
Most of his family; parents, wife, etc are buried at Weston Oregon with the exception of his grandfather Presley S. Purdy who is buried at the Alford Cemetery near Harrisburg/Halsey.
Sam is buried at Jacksonville Cemetery
