Clyde E. Smith
ASHLAND - Clyde E. Smith, 82, of 269 B St., Ashland, died Sunday at a local hospital. He was born May 29, 1893, in Greythorn, Iowa. He married Bertha McIlughan in April 1921, in Seattle. They moved to Ashland from Oakland, Calif. in 1949. He was an elder in First Presbyterian Church, Ashland. Mr. Smith was a member of the Veterans of World War I, American Legion in Ashland, Ashland Kiwanis Club, Medford Stamp Club, Ashland YMCA and National Association of Federal Retired Employes. Survivors include his wife, Bertha; one sister, Naomi Grunewald, San Francisco; two nieces, and one nephew. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Litwiller Funeral Chapel with the Rev. B.J. Holland of First Presbyterian Church, Ashland, officiating. Interment will be in Scenice Hills Memorial Park. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 626, Ashland, 97520.
Jane, I'm sorry to say that the obituary I found for Bertha was not complete. There was a chunk missing out of the middle of the page. Anyways, here's what there was.

Bertha Lorena Smith
A private service will be held for Bertha Lorena Smith, 94, of Ashland, who died Tuesday in a local nursing home. Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Directors of Ashland is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be (missing section) Calif. She was a bookkeeper and cashier. Survivors include three sisters in Washington state.
