TRAIL COUPLE DEAD OF GUNSHOT WOUNDS
Jackson County Sheriff's deputies are continuing their investigation of a double homicide discovered about 12:30 p.m. Saturday in the Trail area. Deputies reported finding the bodies of two long-time residents when they went to their home on Elk Creek Road to investigate a report received from friends that they had not seen the couple for a few days. Dead are Adolph Larson, 76, and his wife, Maxine Larson. They died as a result of gunshot wounds received sometime during the past two days. Deputies said they are following good leads in the case but declined to reveal the nature of those clues.

Funeral services for Mr. and Mrs. Adolf C. Larson, of Shady Cove, who died at their home, will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the Conger-Morris downtown chapel. Pastor D. H. Dull of the Seventh Day Adventist Church will officiate. Committal will be in Granite Hills Cemetery in Grants Pass with Conger-Morris funeral Directors in charge of arrangements. Mr. Larson was born July 27, 1895, in Salt Lake City, Utah, a son of the late John and Eda Larson. Mrs. Larson was born Feb. 1, 1913, in Salem. They were married on Nov. 14, 1934, in Medford, and both had lived in Southern Oregon for many years. Mr. Larson was a member of the Rotary Club in Shady Cove. Survivors include a son, A. C. Larson, Jr., Medford, Mr. Larson also is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Lucy McFadden, Grants Pass, and Mrs. Edna Storey, Seattle, Wash. Mrs. Larson also is survived by her mother, Mrs. Sadie Lewis, Medford. Also surviving are four grandchildren. One daughter, Eda Thomas, preceded both of them in death. Pallbearers will include Dick Chamberlain, Gordon Casey, Robert von der Hellen, Charles Robinson, Robert Vincent and Olan McFarland.
