The 1880 Census for Union, Grant Co, Oregon, enumerated 19 June.
Thos. Flyn (name as written), age 46 (born circa 1833/1834), farmer, born in Texas to father born in South Carolina, mother in Texas
Frances E, age 29 (circa 1850/1851), wife, born in Arkansas to both parents born in Georgia.

The other persons at this dwelling are probably not related. The next ones down are from China. The two above are from Connecticut and New York, the four above are a family of Hungarian immigrants. It appears to be a large apartment house.

With that the trail goes cold. I looked for ANY Fran* born Arkansas in 1850 plus/minus 5 years, living in Oregon or Washington. This in the event of his death, or her remarriage. I did the same for him. I looked for any homestead act land patent issues to him, as he was a farmer, in Oregon and Washington.
