Hi Debbie, I found the family living in 1860 in Winchester, Douglas Co., OR. Jera Rapple [Census spelling], b. NJ, 64, laborer; Lavina, b. OH, 43; Jera, b. OR, 2/12ths; Charles Fisher, b. OH, 12; Mary Fisher b. IA, 12; Emna [Census spelling] b. IA, 8; William Young, b. OR, 3; Lew Jones or Janes, farmer, b. OH & David; Chester Swan, laborer, b. NY & Log Scheffer, b. NY, 21. I think these last couple of surnames were boarders but the Census doesn't say that.

In 1870 Jeremah Rapallee was living in Myrtle Creek, Douglas, OR. b. abt. 1797, NJ, farmer.

On the same page was Lovina Rapullee, b. OH, 53, head household. They were definitely living in different residences.

Here are the some sources for Douglas County; www.rootsweb.com/~ordougla/. Cemeteries for Douglas Co., www.interment.net/us/or/douglas.htm.

In 1900 Lovinia Rappleye was living in Marysville, Grant Co., OR; b. July 1817, OH, widow.

Here are some sources for Grant County; Grant County Oregon History and Genealogy, www.oregongenealogy.com/grant/index.htm; http://gesswhoto.com/grant.html; www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/or/grantfiles.html; Grant Co. Cemeteries, www.rootsweb.com/~cemetery/oregon/grant/html.

Also a Mary Luce d. Portland 4 Jan 1936 per death cert #53; spouse=William. I'd try to get a copy of her obit before ordering the death cert since hopefully that would be less expensive. Here's a couple of possibilities of where to get it. Genealogical Forum of Oregon, www.gfo.org; Random Acts Gen. Kindness, www.raogk.org, choose Oregon, choose Multnomah Co. Central Library, 503-988-5123, www.multcolib.org. Successful Hunting!
