CONDON -- Mattie B. "Billie" Allen, 82, of Condon, died Friday, May 2, 2003, at Hood River Care Center in Hood River.
A graveside service will be held at the Condon Cemetery on Wednesday at 1 p.m.
Mrs. Allen was born Oct. 29, 1920, at Whitney, Texas, to George and Texana Thurmond Tennison. She was raised at Waco, Texas, and attended schools there.
In 1939, she married Gerald Wood. The couple later divorced.
In 1948, she married Bentley Ries. Mr. Ries died in 1973.
On Sept. 1, 1978, she married Bud Allen at Reno, Nev. The couple had most recently been residents of Summit Springs Retirement Village in Condon.
Mrs. Allen enjoyed gardening, the outdoors, making Christmas candy, and doing needlework.
Survivors include her husband, Bud Allen, of Condon; daughter, Billie Van Arsdale and son, Garrett Wood, both of Arlington; stepdaughter, Barbara Kane of Sherwood; grandchildren, Ron Doherty, Marty Wood, Kasey Wood, Brenda Wood, and Jessica Wood; three step-grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Summit Springs Retirement Village, P.O. Box 687, Condon, OR 97823, or the Hood River Care Center, 729 Henderson Road, Hood River, OR 97031.
Sweeney Mortuary of Condon is in charge of arrangements
