I have pictures from the Olex school dated 1905, 1907 & 1923; the baseball team in 1910 and 1894 (no names listed for the players on this one though). I didn't find any of the surnames listed above on any of those pictures. Do you have a specific date?
I found an Ed Huber listed in Gilliam County in 1910.
I found Valentine there in 1920 & 1930-but not prior to that. He was listed as a wheat farmer on both census-and he owned his home. You might want to check out the property records for Gilliam County which may give you a more precise date.
Also- I found that Valentine was listed as living in Clem and Rock Creek-there are many pictures of farmers around that area in a book entitled A Pictorial History of Gilliam County, Oregon. I know that it is for sale at the Gilliam County Historical Society-not sure where else it is for sale. The historical society is closed for the winter but will reopen in May. I will provide you with the address if you would like to have it. They would also have any newspaper articles regarding the family while they lived in Gilliam County.
