U.S. States: Oregon: Douglas County
David C. Butt(s) of Tenn; Dade Co., and Dallas Co., Missouri married into the Randleman family in about 1854. They came by wagon train to Sonoma County (North of S.F.) in 1860. The children scattered from Sonoma County up the coast to Washington, over the years including Douglas County.
David's brother, James Butt(s), born ~1833/34 in Tennessee probably came to California from Missouri in about 1852/1853, lived in Diamond Springs, CA and in Sacramento Co., CA. He also had married into the Randleman family, most of whom settled in Oregon. The last we can find of James Butts is on the 1860 Census of Sacramento County. We find no record of his dying in California after 1905. We believe that during the 1860-1870, after the death of his wife, he relocated to Oregon, where his Randleman in-laws were living with his children, and he probably died there before 1905, as there is no record in Oregon of his death after 1905.
I would like to hear from anyone who might be a descendant of David C. or James Butt(s).
