I am looking for information about Elijah Smith who probably lived in Coos County in 1909 when he sent a Christmas postcard to his granddaughter, Effie Pigg. Elijah was from Smith Co., Tennessee where his daughter Cassie Smith married John Walker Pigg about 1864. Elijah may have had a homestead in Linn Co. before going to Coos County. (In 1880, the Piggs rented a farm on Brush Creek in Linn Co. before they moved to Mayville, Oregon.)
About 1910, Effie's sister, Rosie Stillwell may have also been living in Coos County with her husband, Corrie Stillwell, before they moved to Roseberg.
Information of this Smith, the Piggs, or Stillwells, would be a great help as I search for places that my ancestors lived. I have several dozen postcards that were sent from Coos County about 1910 to Effie and her other sisters who lived in Idaho.
