I'm not related to this family, but found the following information in the Oregonian newspaper of Portland, Oregon, Tuesday, August 10, 1915, page 11, last column. I'm posting it here as a family member may be looking for something on Gunard SWANSON. A larger article, or follow up article on Gunard, may have been published in the newspaper in Astoria. This article is short, but here it is in total:

"Deckhand Drowns Near Astoria.
Astoria, Or., Aug. 9--(Special.)--
Gunard Swanson, a deckhand on the gasoline launch Louise, was drowned today, falling overboard near Tongue Point. His body was recovered. He was a native of Sweden, 20 years old, and left three brothers."
