I know from firsthand experience how tough an adoption search can be. I know this is grasping at straws but...my mother had a dear friend from Ohio whose parents owned a lodge along the Rogue River in Oregon. I'm not sure how long they had roots in Oregon (certainly in the 40's and 50's, unsure of the 1930's. My mother's friend was named Ruth Pearson. She would have been about 26 years old in 1936.
This may just be "nothing",
Good Luck, I found my birth mother after 55 years,
Arlynn Bottomley
