My g-mother was Mary Lundy O'Pry, dau of John M. O'Pry and Martha Jane. One census and some on this forum suggest John M (born in 1838) was born in Alabama, not Arkansas and was married to M. J., born in 1847 in Ark. I am so hoping that this is correct and that George O'Pry born n 1790 in N.C. is my line. Have you ever heard about the Indian connection? In the 50s my mother and her brother received letters from the Cherokee Tribe telling them they were entitled to land on the reservation and apparently gave their bloodline as 1/8th. I have read on this forum that George lived in the Cherokee Lands in 1810 and 1820. if the woman he married was full-blood Cherokee, the bloodline would perfectly fit to my line.

Any further info would be greatly appreciated.
