Dear Tracey,
I was intrigued with your answer to Jim Onslow about his research in Shawbury. My great grandmother was Annie Stanyer Onslow (b Broseley 1853); her father was Dr. Cyrus Edmonds Onslow (b 1830 Wem) a Vet & publican in Broseley; his father was Richard Onslow (b 1785 Shawbury), a Druggist and Grocer, but who were his parents? I have searched the records at Shrewsbury record office, to no avail, so I am stuck.
Although I live in Suffolk, I have looked at the M.I's in the churchyard at Shawbury. I wondered if his parents were Thomas and Anne Colley, who are buried there, but I have no proof? Thomas Onslow was at one-time a tenant of Sowbath Farm. Later, Richard died at Sowbath Farm, Stanton in May 1854, but where was he buried? Does this link in with your ancestors? If you have any ideas I would be very grateful. Maybe, I can help you. I have more information.
