All FTM including MAC 2 has a License or Serial Number.
What License? What Serial Number? the one that is give so you can register your product.

I am guessing you have a Mac, AND that you are using FTMM-2, right? I am using a MAC and purchased FTM MAC 2 and registered the product.

Did you Register FTMM-2, from the Help menu? I registered the product when I installed and was asked do you want to Register.

What 3rd Party? Let me provide you with the email that I was sent from Customer Support at Ancestry.com

Dear Michael,

Thank you for contacting Ancestry.com regarding trouble with the serial number of your Family Tree Maker for Mac 2 download.

We are very sorry for your frustration with this issue. We have partnered with Nova Development to handle the downloads of Family Tree Maker. When you click in the Ancestry Shop to download the program, it lets you know you are being redirected to our trusted partner. Nova has all the information on your order and is the only company able to give you another serial number, or even issue a refund. It is not something we have access to in our system. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. You can contact them by phone at 1-877-445-6883. They have live chat available here: www.novadevelopment.com/support/customer_service/index.html. You can also email them at this link: http://www.softcity.com/support/contact?softwareId=family-tree-maker-2011. Again, we are very sorry for the inconvenience and frustration and would be happy to pass along your feedback about your experience.

If you need additional assistance, please feel free to reply to this message or contact us by phone at 1-800-262-3787 from 10am to 10pm EST, Monday through Sunday.

Best regards,

I left the email intact so you could read the entire messarge that I received. First time that I had heard that FTM did not do there on Software and Registration.

Thanks,
Mike
