I am not personally related to the Upwell ONGs. However, I have gathered a fair amount of information on this family with the help of others. The basic facts on Alfred are as follows:-
Alfred James ONG was born at Upwell in 1866, the youngest of 8 children of William and Mary ONG (née TANN). His father William was christened at nearby Welney on 9 May 1814, the son of Isaac and Elizabeth ONG (née WISE). His grandfather Isaac was born at New Buckenham in Norfolk on 9 April 1773 and christened on 24 May 1773. As a matter of interest, as well as the Upwell ONGs, all modern-day Norwich ONGs can be traced back to New Buckenham.
After the death of his wife Eliza (in 1909) Alfred appears to have remarried in 1915. I believe his second wife was Harriett WILKINSON who he married in the Bradford registration district. Alfred died in 1928, also in the Bradford registration district.
