The Mother Of Necton

There are precious few publications that contain information about the East Anglian Ong family. So may I recommend to all a little publicised book written by Mary Nichols about her remarkable grandmother Eliza Ong, wife of Walter, who lived in the village of Necton in Norfolk until she died in 1978, aged very nearly 100. It provides a fascinating insight into one of the rural Ong families in the 19th and 20th centuries.

Since the book was published (in 2000) I have been helping Mary piece together her family tree. For anybody interested, the book is entitled “The Mother Of Necton - A Century of Norfolk Life”. It is a reasonably priced hardback on excellent quality paper and contains some lovely photos. It’s easily obtained from Amazon in the UK at http://www.amazon.co.uk/. (No, I’m not on commission - honestly. I just think it’s a great book.)
