Re: Edith Butler info on Mary Ann O'Neill b. 1866
Hi Edith,
Greeting from Calgary, Alberta Canada !! I think you may find this interesting, seeing your last name is Butler and we are talking about 1821, 184 years ago !!!
Here is some info I have on Mary Ann O'Neill b.1866 Main-a-dieu, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada
Father: Thomas O'Neill b. 1821 Main-a-dieu, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada (For your info if you look at a map -this is a small village just north of Louisburg and south of Sydney, Nova Scotia)
Mother: Bridget Butler b. 1824 Main-a-dieu, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada - Her father was from Ireland and her mother from Nova Scotia.
Mary Ann first showed up on the Census of 1871 Microfilm # C-10569 at 5 years old.
Then Mary Ann was listed on the Census of 1881 Microfilm # C-13166 at 15 years old.
At this point I do not have any more on her, I assume that she got married and so the last name was changed.
Mary Ann had brothers and sisters as follows:
James b.1847
Thomas b.1850
Sarah b.1851
Catherine b.1855
Elizabeth b.1857
Jane b.1859
Bridget b.1863
Mary Ann b.1866 -Who we are talking about
John William b.1868 - This is my Grand-Father
If this is of help, let me know. If there may be other info you need and I can help just let me know. My email is acting up so I posting this for now.
Regards,
Aubrey O'Neill
