I am researching my mother's maiden name of O'Neal. Her grandfather Clarence was born in New Castle Co. De. His father, Henry, married in Kent Co, De. to Elisabeth Comegys. Henry's father was a witness to this marriage in 1866. His father was H. O'Neal. Either Henry or Harry. Family legend says he came over from Northern Ireland and jumped ship into Pennsylvania. He supposedly grew up and lived in the Pittsburgh area before moving to Maryland. According to 1870 and 1880 De. Census, his son Henry was born in Maryland. I am trying to verify the story about Henry. Let me know of information on other O'neals(O'Neil,O'Neill).
