Hi Cheryl.
I just found out a few minutes ago that there was a John O'NEAL living in Canterbury, York Co., NB, CAN, in 1861.
My ancestors, George and Mary Ann (NEAL) WILKINS left northern Maine and moved to Canterbury, York Co., NB, CAN, and were there in the 1861 census with their many children.
I've been looking for Mary's parents for several years, and wonder whether she is related to John O'NEAL.
The person who told me about John in the 1861 census said that he was "Irish."
Betty(near Lowell, MA, USA)
P.S.George and Mary WILKINS had 10 children, and I am descended from their daughter, Clarissa, who married her cousin, Joseph KIDDER, in Princeton, Maine in ~1868.
George's sister, Mary Jane WILKINS, married J. Calvin KIDDER (1799-1891), and they had 6 living children, one of the sons, Joseph.
KIDDER is my main research of 15 years.
