Hello,

I just came across this site as I was looking for something about Capt.Edward Stokes of whom I am related. You may have found this information already as it's been a couple of years since your inquiry. The Olvera name is intertwined twice with the Stokes line.

Edward Stokes and Dona Refugio Ortega had 3 sons, Adolfo, Eduardo and Alfredo. Upon the death of Captain Stokes, Refugio married Agustin Olvera, widowed at the time. This is the same Olvera of whom the Street in LA is named. One of his daughters, Dolores Olvera, married Edward Stoke's son Adolfo. They had seven children, the youngest of whom is my grandmother. I have an abridged family tree source that doesn't include all the children, so I do not know if she had additional children within her second marriage.
Hope this helps.
