Obit: Arnold C. Olson b.1917 Frontier district, SK.
Arnold C. Olson January 28th, 1917 - October 31st, 2005. Arnold was born January 28th, 1917 in the Frontier District, SK and married Grace Johnson of Minnedosa, MB in 1950. He farmed in the Frontier area until 1986, they then retired to Saskatoon in 1987. For the last month, he lived at Elim Lodge in Saskatoon. Arnold had a passion for music, being the Band Conductor of the Frontier Community Band for a number of years. He and his saxophone traveled the area playing for many. He was a Chapter member of the Frontier Credit Union, Member of the School Board, Federated Coop and Sask. Wheat Pool. Following retirement, he continued to play in Saskatoon with local bands. He also, truly enjoyed his time at Western Development Museum volunteering and working with the Steam Tractors. Arnold was an avid reader and had a curiosity for all things. Arnold is loved and remembered by his wife, Grace of 55 years; son, Gerald (Lorelee) Olson of Edmonton; grandchildren, Tonya and Kira Olson; two sisters, Beulah Anderson of Saskatoon, SK and Adora Nestegard of Frontier, SK; in-laws, Florence Johnson of Minnedosa, MB, Ioleen Peterson of Norquay, SK, Harriet (Bill) McLaren of Port Orchard, WA, Albert (Clara) Johnson of Minnedosa, MB, Bernice Anderson of Prince Albert, SK and Wesley (Connie) Johnson of Brandon, MB; and several nieces and nephews. Arnold was predeceased by his parents, Ove and Oleanna; brother, Gerald Olson; sister, Oriet (John) Kaland; brothers-inlaw, Arthur Anderson, Leonard Nestegard, Irving Johnson, Archie Johnson, Phil Peterson and Rev. Wendell Anderson. A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 4th, 2005 from College Park Covenant Church (909 Acadia Drive). Interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to College Park Covenant Church or The Canadian Diabetes Association (Box 12013 STN BRM B Toronto, Ont. M7Y 2L3).
