I'm looking for a Charles A. Olsson that married Susan Kuhns of Westmoreland Co., PA.My great grandfather was Frans Oskar Hane and he married Susan's older sister Clara.
Frans Hane also emigrated from Sweden in the Spring of 1869 and was born in Nysund, Örebro län, Sweden. There were some family connections to Karlskoga.Frans destination was listed only as North America and he supposedly came to the Scranton area of PA through New Jersey--this part we have no documentation on.He married Clara in Oil City in Venango Co, PA in 1872.He was working in the oil fields at the time.
Charles (often Carl or Karl in Sweden) A. Olsson, according to the Kendall Boro/McKean Co/PA 1880 Census was born in Sweden about 1848 -- I can not find him in the Census in PA in 1900, 1910 or 1920 but his wife's name (Mrs. Charles Olsson) is listed in Clara's obituary as living in New Kensington PA in 1933 and again in 1935.
C.A. and Susan Kuhns Olson had a daughter Mary G. born about 1877-1878 in PA.
Do you know the ship that Olof, Carl or Anders were on?According to the Swedish emigrant records, Frans Hane's date of departure was 31 Mar 1869 from Hallefors.I have made a copy of the surrounding passengers and find Anders Gustaf Olsson, b. 19 Jan 1850 departing also from Hallefors on 22 April 1869.Other Olsson family departing about that time are: Daniel, Katrina, Carl [b 7 Oct 1819], Olof and Gustaf. The departure dates for the Olssons are in April and early May 1869.I'm assuming (but may be wrong) that these departure dates were from their Parish and not necessarily from Sweden.
If any of this sounds familiar, please contact me and maybe we can establish some connection.
