Hi Matthew,
Your grandfather was almost certainly not a descendant of the Richard Olney who was Attorney General of the U.S. as that Richard had only two daughters. However, I do have a Roy Olney in my database who could possibly be your grandfather. He was born aft. 1872 to Henry A. Olney (b. 10 Oct. 1857) and his wife Sarah Kenyon. This family lived in Hillsdale, MI. I have very little information on this family. If I can be of further help, let me know.
