I am not sure if this is any help but I a large number of the Olmsteads in Maine originated from Gideon Olmstead 1768-1837,and Ester Andrews 1771-1840. They had 10 offspring which survived long enough to reproduce. Nancy, Gideon, Foster, Mary, Abram, Ester, Solomon, George, Richard and Sarah. One of these are likely to be a parent of the person you are looking for. Richard moved to the Ottawa/Quebec area. Some of his siblings may have moved with him.
