My family name was Olliver until my grandfather or his father dropped the second L.
An Olliver family bible, not in my possession, records that my Great grandfather was John Oliver. He was born in about 1850 at Tywardreth,St Austel,Cornwall. He married Sarah Barnes on 6th June 1870 and died in about 1925 at Gunnislake,Devon. He was a journeyman blacksmith.
His father was Charles Olliver who died on September 10th 1883 at Gunnislake. His wife was E.Jane.She died on May 17th 1881 at Gunnislake.
In the graveyard at St Neot's church in Cornwall a tombstone records a Charles Olliver who died on April 22 1883 aged 82.His wife Mary died December 22 1881 aged 78.On the same tombstone is recorded the deaths of three children of John and Phillipa Olliver
Charles died 26 Aug 1868 aged two weeks
William died 21 July 1883 aged 7yrs
Frank Arthur died 27 December 1883 aged 14 yrs

Another tombstone in the same graveyard records the death of the last surviving daughter of Charles and Mary Olliver. She was the wife of Edwin Weary and died on December 15th 1877 in her 62nd year.

It is thought in my family that this Charles Olliver was a relation but I have no firm evidence of this.

I should be grateful for any information relating to the above!
