I am a great grandaughter of Samuel Oliver & trying to verify correct name of his father. I have found a John Wesley Oliver who married Elsie -------. Also have a JAMES Wesley Oliver, married Else DeVoe which seems more likely, judging by the dates. There is a gravestone for a John Wesley Oliver in a very old tiny cemetery in the country outside Redington, NE. There is a smaller gravestone beside it with the name "Baby Cora" on it. Family members believe John Wesley Oliver to be a brother to Samuel Oliver, rather than the father. Have found no information indicating Samuel's father ever traveled to NE. Would greatly appreciate information to help discover Samuel Oliver's correct father's name, in order to proceed with family tree.
