I was curious on your statement about Thomas Oldcastle. I live in NJ USA, and decend from the Bishop family of England. They decend from Simon Milbourne of Hertfordshire, who decended from the Deveroux family of the same locality. When Sir John Oldcastle was
convicted of treason, and executed,ca 1417 his lands were outlawed, and his nephew, a member of Parliment, took a long time in getting them back. When he did, he sold them to Simon Milbourne. According to the Visitations lineages, there was a sister, I believe, whose dau married into the Deveroux
line. I seem to remember that John had a brother Thomas whose widow married an official of King Henry VI, and had a dau marry into the same Deveroux line.
I find it facinating that the Oldcastle
line was carried to the present. Does any of this agree with your records?
All the best,
