the O'Kane/Kane DNA project will focus on the Counties Derry and Antrim. It will find matches for descendants of the Ó Catháin families. These families commonly anglicised their name as O'Kane/Kane and McKane. Most were originally from County Derry and northwest Antrim, but some are found also in county Clare. Those being their point of origins, but of course now they are spread around the world.
We really need some County Derry origin O'Kane/Kane families to sign up; this project is well underway already with circa 10 participants and several more set to take the DNA test. A High Resolution match has already been made.
