Re: Dewey Hotel Guest Registers

This is just a guess, as I work for a hotel- The guest register books are just like the accounting books- And you have to keep them for so many years. I would imagine that if the hotel is still in existence, that they would have these records. In the hotel I work for, they have all of their guest register lists dated back to the very first day they opened- 25 years ago. It would seem to an average person that this is a crazy idea, but if there was a court case that needed to prove some one was at the hotel, these records could prove alot- It's amazing how seriously they take it- not only that, but now adays, you have to confirm the name with two ID's. No more Mr John Doe, for example. (false names) If not, I would check with the state licensing comission or call a local hotel and ask what happens to the Oklahoma hotel registers dating back that far. It's a start, I would think. Just a thought- wish I could be more help! :) Keittaa
