A rather elusive figure was Ninian Alford Chamberlain (1856-1929), the son of Ninian A. Chamberlain, Sr.'s son Jeremiah J. Chamberlain (1825-1901), and his wife Elizabeth C. Carrigan (1836-1916), of Knox Co., TN. She was the daughter of Alford M. Carrigan, who was originally from KY. Raised in Knox Co., TN, Ninian Alford m. Alice Shell, also of Knox Co., in 1886. From what I can tell, they had three children, one in TN and two in TX. Indeed, Ninian, Alice, and children appear on the Fannin Co., TX, census in 1900. Shortly thereafter, they moved to OK where a "Ninyon A. Chamberlain" received a land patent in Tillman Co. in 1909. Beyond the 1910 and 1920 censuses for Tillman Co., there is little else readily available that could document the final two decades of this man's life.

Here is a tentative chronology for Ninian Alford Chamberlain. It draws primarily on on-line sources.
