There is confusion over Mary's middle name. Her tombstone reads Mary "Lou". Family records show it as Mary "Luesetta". Jim Hicks' extenive family genealogy show it as Mary "Lucretia". It could also be "Loucretia" or even Mary "Louise". Her maiden name was Hembree and she was born in Tennessee, probably married in Arkansas, and died and was buried in Inola, Rogers County, Oklahoma. Her husband's (Waddy Thompson McCoy)father (my great, great grandfather) was John Lowrey McCoy, 15/32 Cherokee, an "old settler" of the Cherokees, elected councilor in 1841 from Skin Bayou District (later changed to Sequoyah District), Cherokee Nation. Anyone have any information on this family?
