“CAP” WORLEY Completes Fire Fighting Chore of 20 Years
From the Shawnee, Oklahoma newspaper, a story to interest those who know Mr. Worley who lived around Saint Jo and Hardy for about 35 or 40 years. He is a brother of MRS. R. T. BROWN, WILSE KENNEDY, MALCOM COUCH, JOHN HESTER and CHIEF WICKER. He was promoted to captain Dec. 5, 1937. Although he was 60 years old just a few weeks ago, he’s still young in mind and spirit as a 16 year old. He can polish off a gallon of ice cream and a platter of chicken gizzards without so much as time out for stretching. He’s a whiz at the domino table if he can just get shed of that double six. The Worley home is at 136 South Oak Street. Besides Mrs. Worely there are CARL and FAY, both of whom grew and graduated from high school here in Shawnee….
