Your very welcome Jo. Did you know that people now call it "Twin Lakes"?
I don't live in Shawnee now, but I was born there and still have family living there....and I didn't know what they were talking about when they said Twin Lakes.......I had always thought Shawnee Lake was just one big lake.....haha.
My grandparents had a house on the lake complete with a playground for grandchildren (made by my grandpa) and a huge garden. They somehow managed to get in some fishing as well......don't know how as they had plenty to do. But we all had many wonderful times there.
One of my cousins went out there recently and the house is gone.....and all is grown up in weeds. She almost cried because it looked so desolate. I guess we think things are always supposed to stay the same even many years later.
It was such a beautiful place, it is a shame that whoever bought it didn't take care of it.
Where do you live now? I live in Texas.
