Try contacting the Santa Fe Depot Museum, E. Main, Shawnee, OK, 74801, (405) 275-8412.

The Shawnee Library also has a book on the history of Pott. Co., and it may have some information about the sheriff's dept. in the early days of the county. I don't know if they have anyone on their staff to do lookups or not. The library has a very limited file of early newspapers on microfiche, but, like I said, I don't know if they have any staff to do lookups like this.

Good luck.

Gene Stark
