Services for EARL THOMAS SUMNER, 1312 S. Johnson, will be held 2 p.m. Monday at the Criswel Funeral Home Chapel with REv. KAY V. MILLS of the First Presbyterian Church officating. Sumner, 82, died Saturday in his home following a short illness. Born May 25, 1888 in Celeste, Texas, he came to this community in 1908. He retired in 1948 after 40 years as Superintendent of Mails at the Ada Post Office. He received his 50 year pin of the Ada Lodge AF&AM, No. 119, and was a 20 year member of the Pontotoc County Election Board. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Sumner is survived by his wife MYRTLE of the home; two nephews, RICHARD HARDAGE of Long Beach, California, adn JOHNNY HARDAG of Oledo/Aledo, Texas; and one niece, VIVIAN GRANT, Oklahoma City. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery.
