Dr.John Henry Rowe B-4 1890/Quinton Area
Posted by: R. Ann (Ingram) Wright Date: June 04, 2001 at 16:39:54

According to family story, Dr. Rowe (my g-g grandfather) was a medical doctor in Pittsburg County. The story says he was caring for patients with small pox and died while away from home. Story says he may be buried in or around Quinton, Pittsburg County, OK. Looking for gravesite of Dr. John Henry Rowe or information about epidemic in area during 1880-1890.

His wife was Leath Ann Brashears/Rowe/Mote/Alcorn (buried in Non Cemetery, Pontotoc County, OK), Choctaw Indian, who was the daughter of Wm. Brashears--(Civil War - Confederate--with the 1st Choctaw & Chickasaw Mounted Rifles--out of AR).

Thanks for any help! Happy Hunting
