Joseph and Jewil Winsell Census Records
Posted by: Joe A. Winsell Date: December 30, 2000 at 16:29:57
  of 301

With the help of Donna Rey of California, we have significant new information. 1900 Oklahoma Territory Census records show Joseph and Jewil Winsell residing in Cleveland, Pawnee County and having been born in Indiana. Children listed included my grandfather Lewis Winsell and his sister Viola who married Hayden Hunt. Viola and Hayden made their home in Vinita, Oklahoma. Viola is the grandmother of Donna. Another 1900 Oklahoma Territory census record Donna has is one on a John W. Winsell born in Indiana and living in Cleveland, Pawnee County. We suspect John and Joseph to be brothers. From what my mother remembers, Joseph participated in the 1889 land run into Oklahoma Territory. Two of the children on Joseph's census record were born in Kansas and the oldest was age 14 making the 1880 census for Kansas important. Anyone having access to these images or microfilm, please search for these individuals and inform either Donna Rey or myself. Donna is Drey@aol.com and I am jawinsel@hotmail.com. Thank you for any help.
