Mahlon, Thank you for your message. Where would any of us be without genealogists who have done the type of work you have completed to prepare your "Pawnee County OK Cemetery Index." I certainly have not meant to cast doubt about your work. I am glad that you did have a chance to view sexton's records and also glad that copies have been donated to the Pawnee Historical Society. I do believe that the actual death date of 21 October is probably correct. That date couldn't have just been plucked from the air. Even a year of 1900 could have been read as 1899 if smudged or blurred. This may have been the case when the sexton looked at notes and made entries into his records. Other family members also thought the date was 1899. Yes, I did find Barnet Morrison in the 1900 Federal Census with the correct wife and a few of the younger sons, including my grandfather.
