Jan, I am looking for a death notice or obituary, if there is one, for Barnet Morrison (1827-1900). My grandparents stated that he died 21 October 1899, however, he was listed as being on the Osage Reservation at the time of the 1900 Census, enumerated in June of 1900. So, I think my grandparents had the year wrong and that he probably died in 1900. So, checking newspapers in Pawnee beginning with 21 October 1900 until about a month or six weeks after that date seems like a plan.

I have not had an opportunity to check the death, probate, will records at the courthouse in Pawnee yet. To me, that seems a logical first step. Checking there for a period from June 1900 for five years or so should certainly find him, unless he died in Osage County.

Jan, I would like to reimburse you for your efforts. My email address is chalfort@earthlink.net for a direct reply.
