I am doing research on a lady by the name of Ruby Darby who was a blues singer/vaudeville performer 1915-1930. She performed in OK, TX, MO, KS and was quite well known.
Her best friend and co-performer was a lady whose stage name was Gypsy Morrison. Gypsy's maiden name was Smith, and it is believed her married name was also Morrison.
It is my understanding that Gypsy passed away in Picher, OK we think in the 1970s (don't know for sure).
I have been unable to locate Gypsy on any census record. I would like to learn more about Gypsy. I have a few photos of her and Ruby that I am willing to share with descendants.
Would like to communicate with anyone who might have informationn about her.
