States: Oklahoma: Osage
We would like to contact anyone who knew, or worked with (or for) Lawrence P. ("L.P.") Groves & his wife, Ruth (Cronk) Groves. They lived at Lep & ran the little Osage Railway, from Lep to Foraker; from the oil refinery at Lep. They lived in converted railroad cars (really quite nice). There is nothing there today; no railroad, no RR offices, and no refinery. Even the road patters are different. If you know that area & time, please contact me. The refinery at Lep was a Phillips Petroleum facility. Could anybody provide a clue regarding the closing of that refinery, the abandonment of the village of refinery employees, or the dismantling of the tiny Osage Railway? We have no idea of when this happened, other than the guess of "1950s-60s". We would like to make contact with anyone who lived in or near Lep, worked at the Phillips refinery, or has done research on that specific area of Osage County.
