TAHLEQUAH -- Memorial services for George Rodgers Holeman, 68, of Tahlequah, will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 6, 2003, at the Hart Funeral Home Chapel, with Mr. Tommie Bighorse officiating. Interment will follow at 3 p.m. at Hillside Cemetery in Skiatook. Services are under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.
George Rodgers Holeman was born to Leonard and Nettie Lee (Grubb) Holeman on Sept. 21,1935, in Pawhuska, and passed away on Nov. 26, 2003, at his home in Tahlequah.
After completing high school, he married Alice Marie Morris in 1954, in Skiatook. Together they raised their only daughter, Renee Lone. George made a career of being a truck driver for 35 years. In 1994, he moved to Tahlequah from Drumright to be closer to his daughter. In his leisure time, he enjoyed fishing and making Indian jewelry. A true friend to many, he will be missed by all who knew him.
George is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Alice Marie Morris in 1990; and a brother, Michael Quant.
George is survived by his only daughter, Renee Lone and husband Jerry of Tahlequah; one brother, Tommie Bighorse and wife Wendie of Chouteau; three sisters, Tanya Holman-Pillers of Newport, Wash., Jane Taylor and Jualice Astorga both of Fresno, Calif.; one granddaughter, Laura Keen of Tahlequah; one great-granddaughter, Baylee Keen of Tahlequah; several nieces, nephews, cousins; as well as a host of friends and loved ones.
